Very nice form on the character! Really good work! Also good work with the motion blur and not over doing it. The character stands out well against the background too. I think the background though is too generic in colour. The blue in the sea and the green in the hills are like they came out of a tube unmixed. For such a distance too, the green shouldnt show up like that. Everything gets a bit more blue the further you go from the camera, so blue up those greens and yellows. Since green already has some blue in them, the yellow will change the most. Also spend some time on the shapes of the birds. All their shapes are the same at the moment which makes it stand out more as something unnatural. Again, this is looking great dude. Mostly because you have the forms down well, you have hard edges where they are needed and its clear.
Man I always do this! And I know I do it and that is wrong but I keep doing it! Why?!! Whenever there's one illustration that I think I did a bit better, I'm so sick of it when I do the final bits of the main character(s) that I just want to put it away and forget about it (And I just leave the background completely badly done :S ) You are completely right. The BG elements are all work of a lazy man! I should be more careful with those. I'm glad you like the main characters. Thanks for your critique man. Keep them coming, they re much appreciated. Also I do agree with the good critic of Mr.Ho :) (I really agree on the too powerfull/bright colours BG, I felt it as well) I'm not really in a place where I can give advice on that hehe :p WHAT I REALLY WANTED TO SAY IS : "MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN I love this style without line ! :)" aha u never use line don't you ? :D But maybe we feel it better on this one because u didn't use any special paint brush ? :) it gives me a feeling of something done under flash (I love that kind of design since I worked at a Game compagny on flash :D) so hehe keep up the good work =) =) =) (I liked ur robot as well !!! :) nice detailled shape !)
Thanks Anne :) although i started this one thinking that the drawing would have to get as best as I could, the idea was to take the line after. I wanted to make it look like it came from one of those Animé. After a while i just got tired of it. The BG... :S:S:S Thanks for your comment, I'm glad you like it.
