Nice one dude! Do more of these... maybe with something non metal as you will have to be more subtle with your contrasts. You kinda exaggerated them here but at least you see them. Keep them up. Something to look into later... textures. This might be too early to try it out as youd want to put priority to values and other stuff first. But just to let you know... you can try using custom brushes to replicate the rusted finish to it. Again... this is just so u get an idea of whats still needed but I would prob ignore that for now as you dont want it to get in the way of your value studies. One thing at a time. Im still looking into textures so its really quite an advance thing as you will have to utilize more of Photoshop's tricks and settings to work them out.
Thanks Ben! I think this whole week I'm going to focus just on metal reflections. It was a pain to do these two, so I want to nail it a bit better, and then yeah, start practicing with other stuff. And yes, textures. In due time I'll NAIL THEM WITH MY IRON WACOM SWORD!! (I hope :) Anyway, although as you said it is a bit to early, keep throwing those things that in time I'll have to think about. I always like to start to think about them in advance.
